Waiting

Still no news on my Visa. It's really starting to bug me. Already asked the migration office, but they know as much as I do. It's almost January and I'm afraid the stupid program will open in February or later.
This means I COULD get my Visa in March.
March is also the latest month I can start working in order to meet the 90 days. If it even gets later I have to work 6 days a week instead of 5.

I already looked into postponing my flight back so I have some weeks extra , but I didn't buy an open ticket as I thought that wouldn't be necessary *facepalm* Now I can't change my flight at all, only can cancel.

So, I can only still wait. If there isn't any more news before I leave I'll cancel my flight and postpone my returndate with 3 weeks just in case ( if possible.)
Though I won't have any insurances running in August then.

Well, hope I have some better news later.

Nog steeds geen nieuws over mijn visum. Het begint nu echt al vervelend te worden. Het is al bijna Januari en ik ben bang dat dat stomme programma pas in Februari opent of laten. Dit betekend dat ik het pas in Maart kan krijgen, wordt het laten dan moet ik 6 dagen per week werken in plaats van 5.

Ik heb al gekeken of ik mijn terugreis wat later kon doen zodat ik een paar weken extra heb, maar ik heb geen open ticket gekocht want ik dacht dat dat niet nodig zou zijn.  Nu kan ik mijn vlucht niet wijzigen; alleen cancellen.

Ik kan nog steeds alleen maat wachten. Als er geen nieuws komt voordat ik weg ga, ga ik mijn vlucht cancellen en verlaat ik mijn terugreis (als het mogelijk is)
Maar ik heb dan geen verzekeringen in Augustus. 

Visa delayed even more

Just checked the official site and saw that instead of halfway january it says:
Early 2013. What does that mean? Will it open in February or March then?

No matter, this is too late for me. I need to start my internship in March in order to get to the 90 days that is required for school. So I have decided to take a look into my options more and found out that the American border isn't that far off >.> It's only a 90 minute drive so the option of entering as a tourist, get the visa legal by re-entering the country looks so much better now then simply wait.

Like this I can wait for weeks. I rather wait in Canada then as I can arrange a lot of stuff like a car, phone and explore the area  before I start the job. (and even having a side trip to America xD)
I hope they will hurry up with the Visa of people who were supposed to leave early as this will cause a lot of problems. The process time is already 20+ days =(

Ik heb net de site gechekt en er staat nu dat het programma begin 2013 opent. Wat betekent dat? Opent het dan in Februari of Maart?

Wat het ook is, dat is te laat. Ik moet mijn stage beginnen in Maart als ik de 90 dagen wil halen.
Ik heb even verder gezocht en nu bleek dat de grens naar Amerika helemaal niet zo ver weg is; maar 90 minuten rijden! Deze optie lijkt nu zoveel beter dan thuis wachten.

Ik wacht liever in Canada zodat ik nog veel dingen kan regelen en Canada wat kan verkennen voordat ik ga werken. Hoop dat ze wel opschieten. Als mijn visum wordt behandelt gaat dat sowieso al 20+ dagen duren. 

Visa problems

Everything seemed to go well. Nearly had everything arranged, but today I received an e-mail that the program I participated in (visa for students) has been postponed from November till January.
This means the Visa could come too late as I'll leave early February.

The people from the emigration agency are very friendly and try to help me and answered all questions I had, but there doesn't seem to be a solution. I can only wait and hope they will handle my Visa early so I can have it before I leave. If I don't get it in time I have these options.

1. Wait. Cancel my flight and book a new one.

2. Keep this flight and be registered as a tourist, BUT when my Visa arrives I have to cross the border again (fly back home) and re-enter but then with my Visa.

*sighs* I'm really disappointed and patience isn't my best virtue.. but i'm afraid I won't have a choice, but wait and hope for the best.

I think I'll go with option 1 as I don't want to cross the border again..but we'll see. =(

Alles leek goed te gaan. Ik had bijna alles geregeld, maar vandaag kreeg ik een mail over het visum programma waar ik aan meedoe: Het programma was verplaatst van November naar Januari.
Dit betekent dat mijn visum te laat komt omdat ik begin Februari al vertrek.

Ik kan alleen wachten en hopen dat ze mijn visum vroeg behandelen, maar als het niet op tijd komt heb ik deze opties:

1. Wachten. Mijn vlucht cancellen en opnieuw boeken.

2. Deze vlucht behouden en als toerist binnenkomen, maar ik moet dan wel de grens weer over.

Ik denk dat ik met optie 1 meega want ik wil niet de grens weer over, maar we zullen het zien/ =(

Preperations

Had a lot of documents to fill in in order to get my visa, but now everything is finally coming closer.
Only need to receive a document from the town hall and an official document from the internship and then I can send it all off and my Visa will be arranged!
My tickets are in, assurances arranged, but I'm still not done.
I still have to buy a lot of new stuff xD my laptop battery is dying again, I need a new video camera  and I also have to update my wardrobe for the Canadian climate.

My mind is already in Canada. I have to focus on my school project, but it's hard to do. I can't help but thinking about the flight already or about how it's gonna be in the studio. And the TV is not helping. On multiple channels I hear the word Canada dropping by and surprisingly very often so my mind wanders off again. xD
This government of ours is also a huge drive to get out of here. The Netherlands isn't such a fun place to stay anymore. It's nearly impossible for people to survive now as they take away all the money and privileges from hard working people / students and think that this will help to improve our Economy.
I can go on and on about how angry I am at them, but let's just focus on Canada again xD

It will be weird leaving the Netherlands and leaving my family behind for the first time and then also for so long. But i'm really excited about this. I'm lucky and happy that I have this opportunity.
I'm also glad and grateful I have a place to stay at our friends' house in Canada before looking for my own spot, so I'm not completely on my own.

Veel documenten moesten ingevuld worden, maar nu komt alles eindelijk dichterbij. Mijn tickets zijn er, verekeringen geregeld, maar ben nog steeds niet klaar. Moet nog veel inkopen doen.

Mijn gedachten zijn al bij Canada. Ik moet werken aan mijn schoolproject maar kan bijna niet focusen.
Onze regering is ook een grote drive om te vertekken. Nederland is niet zo leuk meer om te blijven.

Het zal raar zijn om Nederland te verlaten en mijn familie achter te laten voor de eerste keer en dan ook voor zo lang. Maar ik heb er heel erg zin in; ik ben blij en heb geluk dat ik deze mogelijkheid heb.
Ook ben ik blij en dankbaar dat ik bij onze vrienden in Canada kan verblijven voordat ik mijn eigen plek zoek, dus ik ben niet helemaal alleen.
